Paul, if you're going to post this shizzle can you at least post the
whole email trail in one message. It's very difficult to follow
otherwise...

Personally (and I'm not biased I promise), I think you need to chill
out a bit. IF you're saying Oll conned you because your machine
broke down after 2 weeks then you're just showing how new you are to
arcade collecting. As Oll posted the machine was working, and
presumably you had the good sense to see it working before you paid
for it and took it away. It's a sad fact (which came as a surprise
to most of us when we were new) that 20yr old arcade machines can
break down at any time, and sadly you just got unlucky. I think
Oll has done more than he should have (more than I would btw) to
help you, and I can't for the life of me figure why you feel he is
obligated to give you £40. As far as I can see he offered this cos
he felt bad? He's not in any way obligated since he's not a
business, offered no gurantee, and he sold the cab to you in a
private person to person transaction "as-is".

Bad mouthing someone on this list isn't the way to get this sorted.
Talk to Oll man to man and just fix it. Doing your dirty laundry
on list is only going to make people avoid dealing with you in
future - sorry, not what you want to hear but it's a fact.

That said it has by far been the most entertaining this list has
been for years so please come back with a pithy response pointing
out how wrong I am.

Now for some webspeak. This is jm2pw and ymmv.

Dan.

P.S I have dealt with Oll in the past and things didn't go quite as
I would have liked. We did however manage to talk to each other
like grown ups and get it sorted. Therefore I would deal with him
again.

Jesus monkeyballs! why does he owe you £40 for a £3 bridge rectifier.
It is not uncommon for a 20 year old bridge rectifier to fail ('ve
replaced plenty myself) That could have failed 20 seconds or 20 years
after you bought it, Oll has no way of predicting when it will fail.

Its not like offloading a scap car on someone when you know the
engines on its way out, I am pretty sure Oll wasn't sat there "Shit,
the £3 bridge rectifier is about to fail on my Pole Position, I had
better flog it quick before it dies on me, to some unsuspecting fool"

Where the hell can you buy ANYTHING thats electrical and 20+ years old
and expect a gaurantee?

"Yeah mate I bought this TV off you on the car boot last year for a
fiver and its fucking broken, I'm gonna smash yer heed in you Nigerian
scamming scumbag"

I can't remember what that was? Was that the Space Duel or Amp? Or
something else? I only remember those two said deals.

Am I fecking thick?

Coming from a complete retard who sent a whole fucking machine to
soemone to get a bridge rectifier replaced. I think you are more then
abit out of order calling me thick.

All you had to do was ask a couple of questions on the group and the
problem could have been diagnosed and you could have either taken your
hand out of your arse and replaced it yourself or you could have sent
just the power supply off for repair. If you hadn't acted like a
complete twat then someone on here might have even offered to do it
for you.

I think you owe Oll £40 for having to deal with you. I am just glad
we've all seen what you are like so none of us have to deal with you
in the future. "This WC90 bootleg you sold me 42 years ago doesnt work
anymore I want my money back you scamming bastard etc etc"

I don't know why I am even getting involved in this, I just got sick
of reading your drivel and thought you were acting way out of order.
Oll may take ages to get round to doing things, but I've never thought
of him as a scammer, lol

The only twat is you 'cos I did ask all the right questions at the time and tested everything I was told to test but no one else could find the fault either.

Pinx helped me out and we thought it may have been the BIG BLUE but no.

Isn't it amazing that the ones that aren't slagging me off are the most helpful.(Craig, Pinx, Andy, Pobster)

Andy has been known to be sarcastic but at least in the end he's helpful and offers a helpful word. The same goes to Craig who never seems to get nvolved in all the crap that you seem to relish in.

It's people like you that make the group unhelpful and not what it was intended for.

Please point out any examples you can find of me being a twat, being
unhelpful or making the group unhelpful.

If you look through the history of ukvac and jamma+ I bet there are a
minimum of 500 posts where I have replied to peoples posts requesting
technical help or information.

I spoke up and said something because you were posting pages and pages
and pages of shit and acting like a complete dickhead.

Its people like _you_ that have made this list how it is now. Its
dead, no one wants to post anything useful if the last full 3 pages in
the history are your flame war.

Oll is slow at getting things done. Maybe he's busy, maybe he's lazy?
He's not a scammer and that was a working machine that you bought,
which in the pictures looks like a reaonably good machine. I felt I
had to say something as 90% of what you have said over the last few
days is unjustified crap.

I hope for Ordy's sake your machine doesn't break down again anytime
soon (well its a Pole Position, not the most reliable of machines so
oh dear) otherwise you will probably be blaming him next time.

You've been caling me thick, a twat and all sorts of names for
pointing out that you were being an unreasonable arsehole expecting a
20 year old pole position to work for ever otherwise the seller is a
scammer. After posting your pages of flaming and insulting drivel, you
are now trying to make out that you are the good guy and its all my
fault making the list unhelpful blah blah blah.

Thats the last I am going to say on this matter, wish I hadn't said
anything now and got involved in your crap. You can post all the crap
you want about how much of a twat I am for pointing out how much of a
twat you are as much as you want, I won't even bother reading it. I
don't see what the point in this list is if all thats going to get
posted on here is your insulting rubbish.

You heard too?

Yeah the one about not being able to stand is a skip with a lampshade
on your head while wearing a pink dress is the one that really got me
mad :)

Paul,

Think you need to calm down a bit mate, these things go wrong, a lot,
if you want somthing that you can play and will be 100% reliable then
get mame up on your PC. If you don't know how to fix simple faults,
or cant be arsed to learn then arcade machines really arn't for you.

Most of the old school left the list because of people like YOU, Oll
sold you a 100% working machine, you probably played it to death for
the first couple of weeks and it died, it happens, now if you cant
even diagnose a psu fault then there really is no hope for you. From
what I can gather Oll offered you 40 quid to get parts to repair the
game board, but as is wasn't the board it was the psu, which was a
simple fix, hell you can even get the part from maplin FFS, then that
was way out of his control, you where getting arsy and so he didn't
pay, fair enough.

Now your insulting some of the only old schoolers on here you
actually will help you with a fault, good move.

Your comming across as a bit of a spoilt little boy, sorry.

Oll new it was the bridge rectifier in the end but still offered to send the money and manual.

It's the fact that he was not upfront with me.

When he kept saying the money is in the post....I've just posted the manual and cheque etc etc then it was just messing me about.

Either send the stuff or not but either way be upfront.

If he'd have turned round and said well it was a bridge rectifier and so I don't need to send the £40 then that would have been fine apart from the fact that no one at the time on the list had any idea or positive suggestion as to what may be the cause.

It's amazing how no-one came up with bridge rectifier to check because if I'd have checked it myself then I too could have fixed it.

The only reason I sent it to Craigs is because months had gone by and everyone that was trying to help were obviously looking in the wrong place assuming it was an ARII or regulator board, LOPT, heatsinks, metered transistors at TIP32 and 2N3055, tube heaters, Big Blue logic capacitor.

There's a bunch of members on this list who really are sarcastic piss takers and I'm not the only one that knows and believes in that.

The list would probably have more members if it wasn't for the 'click' mentality that exists.

The list has had more posts in the last few days to do with me than in the past 6 mths so I must be keeping the group alive.

Well that's one consolation

Anyway, I'd rather drop the issue now because I have made my point about Oll.

We don't all agree with each other anyway so let's leave it at that and agree to disagree.

Diagnosing a falut over the internet or phone isn't the easiest thing
in the world to do, made a thousand times worse if the guy trying to
explain the fault doesn't know anything about anything.

We had a whole team at work trying to work out why a terminal
attached to a pacnet pad wasn't connecting to the network, this would
be about 5 very very senior people who could have reprogrammed the
whole system with there eyes shut, anyway still no joy after 5 or so
hours, when one cocky sod walks in and asks if its plugged in, you
guessed it, it wasn't the terminal had been re-flashed, servers
checked, diags done etc etc but the pacnet wasn't plugged into the
terminal.

Maybe Oll should have handled it differently, but IMHO your comming
across as an argumenative PITA

The fact that no one else has said "Oll also conned me, the bastard"
should really give you the hint.
