Galaga doesn't have auto fire, so you need to keep tapping away.funhouse said:There are three Galaga at Arcade Club at the moment aren't there? Is that the most of one game that they have?
When I played it at the UKVAC meeting earlier this month I realised that I really like this game.
Question: Do people mostly keep holding fire down, or do they always keep bashing it?
(Note to self: I must learn those bonus patterns.)

Well that's strange. I've never encountered a Galaga with auto fire and I played many different ones in the 80's, I don't think it's a standard feature. I know there's the fast bullets option, which I don't think is an original option but was a hack implemented at some point later. The standard ROM set in MAME certainly doesn't have it. Wonder what set they are using at Arcade Club? Very odd.funhouse said:bountybob said:Galaga doesn't have auto fire, so you need to keep tapping away.
The ones at Arcade Club did have auto-fire as I could play stages by just holding the fire button down. It often wasn't firing when you wanted it though, so I did a bit of both. Whether that is 'optimal' I don't know.
