Get well kit for Black and White XY monitor?

Hello,
 
Is anyone selling or could recommend a source for a half decent 'get well' kit for a black and white XY monitor as fitted to Asteroids?
 
I know it's bonfire night but I didn't really enjoy the crackling sound or smell of burning from mine last time I turned it on Strangely enough everything was still working a good couple of minutes after the 'incident' but there was definitely smoke in the cab so I thought I better purge my hi score attempt and turn it off; also no obvious signs of where the frying came from so I'm guessing possibly inside the HV cage. bbbbzzzztttt.....crackle!

Sounds like the ulter cap is burning. If you discharge the monitor and then clean the plastic cap at the end of the lead and the part where it contacts the crt you may be alright.
The burning doesn't sound good and may require the replacement of the cap it self.
