This was definitely my number one game growing up in the arcade for the longest time.
Whenever we went to the coast, I was in and out all the arcades looking for it to play. I remember it in numerous cabinets and with different artwork.
It's hard to find the exact artwork I saw on the cabs so thought some of you might remember, and have some photos?

Here's some not commonly seen, are these others specifically for the UK/Euro market?

It's a good game for sure, I hadn't played it in the arcades back then but my brother was buying/selling Megadrives and we used to play Golden Axe quite a bit on it along with The Fatman and Streets Of Rage ones

Shame Sega didn't do more Dedicated cabs for the standard type games considering going all out on the cabs for Space Harrier, Hang-On, Outrun etc
Would have been nice to have some games like Shinobi, Altered Beast, Golden Axe 1 and 2 in proper Sega cabs

Brilliant game and have strong memories playing it during a family holiday to Florida in 1989.
I currently have a US board set up on my video play cabinet. I Picked up a sega kit from the states a decade ago but haven’t found the right shell for it yet… sort of prefer this now.

A game i also loved , remember when it came out on Amiga and copies were going round. I plaid it on the arcades too. I played it a while back and surprised how easy it was to complete !! Cant remember it being that easy and not lasting long.

Truly iconic game , i play it in my multi cab now and then. Need to ged pkaying it again.

We first played it to death on holiday in Pontins Devon, 1990.
So much so that when I played the Megadrive version it just didn't seem quite right in comparison.
I must play both again to compare as the way enemies reacted to being slashed felt different on MD and other home versions. I loved the way the snakes moved along the screen to make Death Adder too.

I never saw a nice cabinet, it was always generic machines I played.

Another huge fan of this BITD but probably more memories of the MD version as that was my first import console. I remember starting with the RF output and then changing to SCART and the difference was incredible, especially the detail as the flowing water came alive - the cut scenes too with the beautiful music. Been toying with the idea of getting the MVS cart but I played it through so many times not sure...
