Yep..... correct my Getaway has developed a new fault
smiley18.gif

The ramp (for multiball lock) has now crapped out
smiley19.gif
I've done some looking into this and one of the problems is that mine is running the L-1 rom which can make game crap out
smiley7.gif

So... down to what happened...

All of a sudden the ramp started going up and down of its own free will. So I ran the test menu and everything to do with the ramp works, it doesn't report any errors however only half the solenoids fire in test mode 2 that don't are the plunger and the one to feed the balls over when you loose one. It did take a fuse out which I've replaced and now when you turn it on the ramp is up and it seems to be trying to raise the ramp a few times then it stops. You can't fire the balls, play the game, etc

I've posted over the road asking if someone could burn me the other rom (L-2) I'm just wondering if there is anything it may have taken out when it crapped out? Is there a way to get it running till I get the L-2 rom?

Love to all

Have you considered getting a priest in to give it the last rites? Or exorcise the demon that keeps breaking bits?
It'll probably be me dying as I'm not giving up on the bast

On a lighter note.... Whilst I await to see where destiny sends me next I'm messing with a few pcbs....

First up was Sunset Riders with no sound.... Traced it to a dodgy chip. My good friend WWF bootleg supplied the chip. It now has sound
smiley4.gif
That's 2 pcbs WWF has fixed now
smiley1.gif

Oh and the WWF bootleg didn't work before I started to harvest it

Next up is seeing if Hatris can help me fix Robocop

Had a quick look at the High Current Driver Board Assembly pcb for the plunger and it doesn't seem to be having any power
smiley5.gif
(I tested it DC through the coin door with the coin switch plugged in) Does it need to be in test or something at the same time?
Also on power up the ramp seems to fire up about 3 or 4 times (and stays up) then it stops. However if you press down on the shifter it does it again
smiley5.gif

I'm still waiting on the new rom set but is it looking to be anything more sinister?

Any help much appreciated

OK I'll sort of got somewhere
smiley1.gif

The
left flipper is fine its the socket the pins weren't connecting so as I
don't have a spare I've opened up the male end a bit as a temp fix. So
they're sorted for the moment
smiley1.gif

Onto the plunger...
I've found a loose wire
smiley3.gif

traced it back and its the power for the plunger! Now this wire seems
to go into J109 as there's nothing else in it! Also I used the test
point for 50v to test the plunger solenoid and it fires
smiley1.gif

so at least I know its not broken! Now all I need to do is suss out
where the wire for the power goes and get some new connectors. Any idea
where it goes in J109? I think it maybe in no 7 but not 100% sure

smiley36.gif
A couple of things I need to source are.....
The 3 pin connector for the flipper, a new connector for J109 (7pin) and to top it off the start button has broke
smiley7.gif
so need one of those too
smiley1.gif

However the start microswitch is behind the coin door and its playable for when our friends from Australia visit in a weeks time

Thanks all

Had a good play test on it and the ball got stuck.... Luckily I could slide the glass down enough to find an arm off a microswitch
smiley5.gif
I found where it should be put it back on and its working great atm (touch wood, erection, etc)

I know think that thanks to the great advice I've had here and over yonder I could fix anything

When you've mastered them, I've got plenty more you can have a go at too.
