I've always wanted a gun cabinet. I read a post today relating to someone looking for a vertical shooter game. Naturally I thought gun game
. Never mind, I was going to post some advice but it was the wrong topic. After going through the motions though, I thought I might as well post it.
All gun cabinets that I have seen thus far are huge and would require a sledge hammer to squeeze them through my doorways. Needed an alternative then. So I decided to test the set-up in my MK2 cabinet first to see if it would be feasible and I'm pretty pleased with the result. A single gun cab would have limitations on choice of game but this conversion has opened up so much more. All I need to do now is find an appropriate sized cabinet to house it all in. I want to leave the MK2 for JAMMA and MAME.
The set-up trial is running a PS2 to JAMMA conversion board with PS2 slim (remote controlled) and G-con 45 and G-con 2 light guns. Plays PS1 games (point blank etc) and naturally PS2 games. The picture is excellent and I really can't tell much difference. Best of all the wife enjoys the shooting games and actually joins in
Seriously happy
