So for years I've had a memory of a video game that I'm not sure exists.
I used to occasionally visit London back in the 80s and always visited an arcade in Tottenham Court RD which always seemed to have the newest games in.
One time I remember seeing a game called Hammer Bang.
The funny thing was it was Mr Do's castle. Not a clone or a lookalike but the exact same game except it was called hammer bang and the main character wasn't Mr Do but Dug from dig dug.
Now I know Mr Do's castle was universal and Dig Dug was Namco so I doubted my memory but also definitely knew I had seen the game.
Never saw it again anywhere and there's no mention of it on the 'net.
I have recalled the memory a few times on a few forums but until now never got and answer about it.
There was an old thread on KLOV about finding a diamond in MR Do and while back I mentioned this game I remembered.
Imagine my surprise this morning when someone updated the thread with this:
It really did exist.
Would love to get the romset for this game for my Mr Do's castle PCB but it's just nice to know it was actually a thing.
