Still keep debating if to get a wii u, already have a WII, well two soon !

Has anyone upgraded to a WII U and loved it, or not really worth it.

I think on hotuk said 100million wiis sold and ony 13 Wii U's !

At present my LCD tv is able to connect a wii via the composite a cable, but newer tv's some only have the HDMI

Just interested if anyone had one and loved it, or not fussed by it.

Thanks

The Wii U has some great games on it, it's just that most of the great ones have also been released on Switch as well. If you don't have a Switch it's worth getting a Wii U for the first party titles alone.

Myself and kids love the Wii U. It has some fantastic games and as been previously said, a lot of these games were re released on the Switch (crazy people like me by the same game for both consoles).

Some of the stand out games on the Wii U are reasonably priced too.

Like the Wii, its great for multiplayer especially as you use the Wii controllers with it and the touchscreen is a nice addition.

Overall I would recommend getting one, the new Mario games are great and Breath of the Wild is epic.

Thanks all, yes I tend to hack everything Snes, dreamcast, wii, xbox , xbox 360. Maybe I'll grab one and just put exclusive titles on it. Then also see how the wii stuff plays. So many consoles , so little space !
£85 on CEX which does not seem to bad just not being able to see the screens on ebay etc is a pain !

I need a cared for one, which may be rare !

Thanks

The best thing with CEX is that you get a 2 year guarantee on the console. It might cost a bit more than one off eBay but sometimes the extra cost for a guarantee is worth it especially with used consoles.

But buy your games off eBay or facebook marketplace as some of the prices at CEX are ridiculous!

Tbh I think cex is the perfect place to buy a Wii U console as long as you can find one in store, I wouldn’t order one unseen from their website though as condition can vary a lot. At least in store you can examine the touch screen etc. I picked mine up from cex and the screen, well the entire thing was absolutely pristine and I’m picky but I passed on plenty of what I would call well used examples so it took quite a few visits to find a good un. I didn’t want one from eBay as photos can be misleading and most peoples idea of mint is not my idea of mint.

I still think it’s a fab console for first party games, but as already said a lot has been re-released on the switch. me and my daughter play on both the U and OG Wii a lot, in fact we were replaying New Super Mario Bros together earlier this evening.

I’ve no idea what games go for currently as I have pretty much everything I want for it as it’s not a large library but fun non the less

Really useful stuff, sounds like a plan.

I dont mind spending the money trying to find a decent console/touch screen, as the games I want I have managed to acquire this morning....

I think with the smaller librarty I wil try and play them !!

Not load it up too much.

Thanks for all the info

I love the Wii U - had some real killer games on it and it was a lot of fun. Reminds me in a way of the Dreamcast - another overlooked and under-rated console.

Most of the classic games are available on Switch now, but there's still some gooduns that aren't. Plus you can play all your Wii games on it too
