I used to be a member of the original Yahoo group and went to one of the meets at Baz'z house - some years ago.

I have a pin table, and dont plan to do anything yet with an arcade machine, but would be keen for a future project to a MAME machine with a starwars yoke. I did own a Star Wars Upright - thiose were the days :)

I see one or two MAME vector projects have already been completed, i might be in tocuh with you some time to pick your brains.

I have not checked yet, but i hope X-Y and Baz are still on the scene?

Cheers

Biff

Hi and welcome Biff. I've completed a VectorMame setup, I'm in the (slow) process of writing up what I did so keep your eyes peeled.

Cheers,

Dan

Hi Biff,

Welcome back into the fold. Although from the sound of it you predate my time in ukvac by a couple of decades so I suppose you should be welcoming me ;) Anyway, good to see you on the forum and I hope you'll get stuck in.

cheers

wow - this is a different UKVAC to what i remember! I recall someone having a Friday night rant - and loads of F words - I wonder if he is still about...

Re the meet, it was at Bas fishes place, and there was a chap in a sparkly coat, allegedly of the TV, who was a lively character, and X-Y tricked me by introducing himself as Abdul :)

It was a great day, stopped overnight in BnB and went up the club afterwards.

I went along with a chap from Corby, can't recall his name.

Any way, just finished sorting my Scared Stiff Pinball, will need to do some DIY fir a month or two to get some credits with the Mrs, then will move onto the Vector MAME, with steering wheel and light guns - an all in one!

I used to have a Star Wars upright, got rid though as it was always going wrong, and the then Mrs. was not too sympathetic as house was a lot smaller than now :)

Any way, its a shame about X-Y, i did get around his lock up in Manchester i believe, i put an auto dialer in for his alarm, it was an Aladens cave - i offered to kip there the night, but he wouldn’t allow and insisted I kipt round his pad. Not sure if he didn’t trust me or was worried i might overload on Retro!!

Any way, glad top be welcomed back - will keep an eye on the Vector projects, having just done the Pinball Party in Daventry I am thinking of going to the Black Pool Retro arcade do - anyone got anything to say about it, good, bad or indifferent?

Cheers

JB

PS Gudler and Ravage are names i am sure i recognize of old.b1ffb0ff2010-08-18 23:38:15

Ah, the chap from Corby was (is!) Phil AKA D-Type. At the time I lived down the road in Irthlingborough and had I not been a noob then I'd have probably tagged along with you in that case ! That was my first outing
