HELP!! removing paint!

Sorry to hear the results weren’t better.
Perhaps the black oil based paint was painted on / over existing damaged vinyl and has reacted.

very hit or miss whether the labour of trying to save will work out but always worth a try.

Yeah it’s a real shame. Right from the start I knew there was something chemically off. The fact that the front of the control panel stripped so easily and yet the sides hardly reacted was a sign.
And the sides followed the exact same pattern

One plus point is that one side has a 3 inch gouge out of it from being mishandled at some point in its life.
I can now repair that and any other bit’s before applying new side art.
