Hi All,

I'm Steve from Eastbourne, used to have an Electrocoin Goliath running MAME, but sold it when I moved house. Couldn't face moving the thing (sooooo heavy!). Now got a small Video Master Jamma cab I'm looking to make into a dedicated Street Fighter 2 machine. (it's currently in state of disrepair with no control panel, awaiting some funds to do her up)

I'm 26 so my gaming era is very much the early mid nineties. However I do have a great appreciation for 80s stuff. Obviously, the big classics, Pac Man, Defender, Space Invaders, Mario Bros, Donkey Kong etc etc...

Also really like a lot of the vector games, I spent many hours playing Juno First on my MAME cab.

I know some of you are on JAMMA+ too, which I've been on for a while, so you'll already know me maybe.

Anyway, nice to meet you all.

Hi Steve and welcome to ukvac! Glad to see you've found us over here and you'll certainly find people who are extremely experienced in the more classic-age games you mention.

I know what you mean about vector games too - I'd love to increase the number of these in my collection. I think Space Duel is my next (after scoring an awesome Star Wars cockpit) - I just think SD has the most excellent graphics and the colour intensity/display simplicity you get vector games gives something you don't see on most raster (btw, Juno First is a vector game? Thought it was raster although I've only played it in MAME).

Anyway, welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy it here and maybe take advantage of the technical focus we've got here. It's my life mission to get people fixing their own gear

Hi Steve and welcome. Pretty sure there are a fair few collectors in your neck of the woods. You're spot on with the Vector games, they are amongst the best of the classic era games. Which in particular do you like?

I've spent many hours on MAME with Lunar Lander. It's seriously addictive. Such a simple and novel idea, not over complicated with variables or anything. The simple ones are often the best.
