Easy question for those in the know I expect... Is content tied to an account or device or something else?

I want to get a few games on my sons 3DS (for me to play) and will want to put them on my own 3DS when I pick one up in the future, is that possible? I don't want to put games on my sons then find I have to buy them again.

Thanks.

Yep nintendo's archaic system means there tied to the console itself rather than the account like other systems. I have heard of people being able to get codes to redownload off of nintendo after console has been stolen or breaks, but the process is a nightmare and they ask for police reports etc. anything to put you off really. If you want to transfer the games to your own system at any stage in the future youll have to transfer everything from your sons 3ds to yours, all contect inc. accounts etc leaving his system effectively empty as if you just bought it.
