Okay so you know how the story goes...
Ive been thinking about getting a SNES for a while ( mainly so I can blast things on Starwing ).

Scouting on ebay I saw so many heavily priced consoles, normally because there's a couple of sweet games in there, Street Fighter, Zelda, you get the gist.

One popped up yesterday though, console, leads, couple of controllers and it came with 3 games:

Super Off Road

Super Wrestlemania

Exhaust Heat

Ive never played any of the games so cant comment, all I know is there not on my 'wish list'.

Put on a bid that, in all farness, was high, but given the state of the market didn't think id win ...

To cut a long story short, I now own and am collecting SNES stuff...

The fiancé's going to kill me

I know, and now I need to buy games!!!

My must have's are:

Zelda (obviously)

Secret of Mana (obviously)

Super Metroid (obviously)

Mythic Quest

Super R Type

Street Fighter (all editions)

Starwing

Super Swiv

Contra

It's been ages since I looked into this properly, I cant even remember what I used to own....

If anyone's collecting an has any doubles that there looking to offload..... you all know where Im going with this....

Is it me or have the prices on evil bay gone mental for SNES stuff???

As long as I can have Street Fighter and Starwing pre xmas so I can annoy my extended family I'll be happy in the short term

I bought a jap snes just because I couldn't stand the prises on european boxed snes games. I found japanese releases easier to come by and so much cheaper, in most cases. I think I bought a complete Contra 3 for £18 posted from Japan. And a complete Mother 2 for under ~£8. And they got some awesome releases western regions didn't, like the rest of the Ganbare Goemon series for one. At least I think 2-4 were jp only. But then there is the language problem in some games. But I'd really recommend a region converter/mod for anybody with a eu/us console. My 2 cents.

But I have to add that nostalgia isn't a factor with me when it comes to the snes cause I didn't have one as a kid. Otherwise I'd likely want the same boxes/artwork I previously owned. Like with my mega drive games.

Also, don't forget to add Castlevania to that list

So, my SNES arrived yesterday....
Not happy at all, great big crack down the side
smiley19.gif

When you tilt it rattles like there's broken plastic inside and the seller is taking no responsibility saying I'm lying about the damage...... It wont even start up now! The power comes on but the games wont load, Ive tried 5 different carts so it must be the console....

Half my xmas presents from what I can gather are SNES games...... Im gutted

Thanks
for that, I just wish I had the funds to buy another one. The seller is
refusing to give me a full refund as he says I'm the one that damaged the SNES
so I'm now in a battle with ebay to get my money back.....

It's
crap when this sort of thing happens as there are some genuine sellers out
there who make ebay great, then there's a few arsehole's who think its
fine to ruin someone's Christmas....

I'm
gutted

My
fiancé even bought me Street Fighter for xmas from Mini Revival, its
wrapped up under the tree!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That doesn't look like the same machine as the one pictured at the top? Seems less yellowed (unless it is a trick of the flash). Basically, you aren't going to suffer a structural failure like that through the post without serious trauma to the case, the inner tray or indeed, the packaging.
