still got and using my Grandparents cooker its as old as me 54 years and only fault is oven element one side has stopped working but mainly use the small Panasonic Microwave fan oven for cooking but use grill and hobs on this most daysEverything is truly built like cr@p now. Current house 15 years and been though three washing machines, about the same kettles, ovens, toasters, microwaves, dishwashers etc. Meanwhile everything the grandparents bought about 40 years ago is still working fine…

probably had a Wii controller thrown at itI remember a few years ago now, I was up the tidy tip/recycling centre and I noticed a big LCD tv (I don't recall the manufacturer of it) in the tv container when I was putting a couple of broken crts in there. The manufacturing date on the sticker on the back showed it was less than a year old! I couldn't understand why someone didn't get it sorted under warranty but there you are. TV less than a year old and it's gone faulty and got dumped!
Regardless of the warranty, you're covered by Part 1 Chapter 2 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, as described, fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time.My microwave oven packed up after 22 months. I purchased it online from Next. When I looked into it I realised it actually had a 2 year warranty so I contacted Next Customer service. They delivered a brand new oven the following day and took away the old one at the same time. I’m still shocked that such great customer service still exists!
Yeah, was thinking about that too as it’s been a thing for a while now but I wonder if anyone has really tested it, in court or whatever, say a washing machine breaking after 3 years or whatever…??Regardless of the warranty, you're covered by Part 1 Chapter 2 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
