I thought I'd make a thread listing my cab history as some others have done.
It will be great too look back at this years later and see pictures of all the games I've owned and shed a tear for the ones that got away

The cab that introduced me to the hobby. Bought as a non-working project from ebay.
I still have it but it's in pieces needing more restoration sadly. I hope to do some more work on it soon.

Return of the Jedi:

My first working cab which I still own. Everyone loves a star wars but I also like this one and have some great memories playing it. It's a *much* better game played on a real cab compared to mame. It currently has monitor issues and I plan on getting a replacement soon.

*

Mr. Do:

This has always been one of my favourite games and I thought it might be fun to own one.
I had no idea there was a dedicated cabinet for this game so I decided to do a search and was blown away by how cool the cabinet was. I was very lucky to be offered this and its the jewel in my collection.

*

Pacmania:

One of 3 games purchased from Astro City arcade which was a cool little adventure in itself.
I brought this back from the dead after it had been retrofitted with a pc and I still have it. I intend on replacing the cpo and adding side art to finish it off.

*

Phoenix:

Another Astro city purchase. It had monitor and audio problems when I first got it which are now sorted which has been a great learning experience. I still own this one.

*

Zaccaria Frogger:

The other Astro City cab and the last one to get up and running properly. I have a replacement chassis waiting to be serviced and hopefully get something showing on screen.

*

Neo-Geo 6-Slot:

I was given this cab after a work clear out. Had fun playing it but it wasn't for me so I sold it on.

*

Donkey Kong cocktail:

This is working nicely and I still have it. I intend on finishing restoring it at some point.

*

Euro Millipede:

milliart20.jpg

Bought as a project and it was really cool stripping off the black painted sides to reveal the original artwork. I never got round to finishing it and it now resides with another collector.

*

Namco Pole Position Cockpit:

Currently partially disassembled while I work on some of the cosmetics. I intend on making this a mame driving cabinet until the modern replacement of the board is available.

*

Moon Patrol:

Another favourite from back in the day which has an awesome dedicated cabinet. An opportunity came up and I imported this from the US. Definitely a keeper.

*

Gyruss:

Another cool game that I got when I purchased the Moon Patrol. It needs a bit of cosmetic work otherwise its a nice game.

It's been great fun collecting these games and I look forward to getting on with the work that needs to be done to them. Here's one final picture of what you are greeted by when you walk in the front door:

Great collection pal. Some really nice titles which add a lot of weight to the collection. Nice to see you getting some project cabs too. Nothing like jumping in at the deep end sometimes.

The stand out one for me is the PP cockpit, as if it is the one I think it is, I ummm'd and arrr'd over this for ages, but just didn't have the space at the time or I would've absolutely loved to have got my hands on this. (if it ever becomes one project too many.........

Great collection, and a nice variety of games. Every time I see a dedicated Mr. Do! It makes me want one a little more...a great game and a great looking cabinet.
Donkey King cocktail is a nice one too, don't see many of those.

Thanks very much fellas.
Yes I had hoped to have had a meet by now,
I wanted to get the pole pos working first so I could have it in the house for a bit.
Hopefully get something sorted soon.

Nice...

If you are interested, I may have one, maybe two working monitors that have Return of the Jedi burn. I was expecting to reflect the burn in their price but if you need a monitor for a Jedi and don't mind a bit of burn, then one of these might be of interest. Send a PM if you are interested. No worries if not...

Thanks Jimmi, yes I would definitely be interested if the burn isn't too bad.
The only problem is you are a long way from me!

I'll send you a pm...

great to see those astro city cabs, look like they went to a good home.

must have been fun moving them down the stairs of that place, though.

Thanks mate.

I was a bit shocked at their condition to be honest - okay physically but not working properly and desperately needing a service, coins stuck in in the slots etc. It's no wonder they weren't taking any money :/

Yes the stairs were "fun" to negotiate. A good job my housemate was with me to give a hand...

paul the owner doesn't even know how to unplug a jamma pcb and plug in a new one, he has to depend on paying someone to do all his tech however small. hence it was a losing battle trying to maintain the retro cabs and especially the pinball, and trying to make any money out of them at the same time. sad.

not like martin at the happidrome, you see him running around fixing anything that's not working. i've seen him working on the pins several times i was there.

anyway, i'm glad they are in safe hands now and getting the love they deserve. i don't think i've even played on that pacmania as everytime i was there it was broken.
