I know there is a reproduction in the US for this but it works out so expensive and having glass shipped halfway across the world doesn't sound appealing.

I spoke with Olly about a reproduction being made here but not sure if there is enough demand.

Just thought I'd post up so others could show if they're interested to hopefully convince him there are enough people to justify all the effort and cost.

I'm interested in your project! It is a challenge that I can repro now, even I can improve it using gold vinyl for some zones.

Repro will include: metachrylate+sticking process+Some extras (optional): Gold vinyl.

Example:

"Columns Control Panel Overlay" (SEGA) in back color printed in vinyl, white ink, real metallic gold color with hard / rough protective lamination (photo 3).

Of course! In fact, it is a very easy reproduction for me!

About repro from "Phoenix Arcade", it is a very bad "restoration". I don't know because it is so expensive. I ordered to produce pieces for my users more complex than this, for pinball in special.

In my case, I face repros too for challenging, like restorations, and this is not so challenging. I think I can improve and complex this repro with gold vinyl. It will be a deluxe and more exotic option, in my opinion.

Control panel overlay can be ordered in that way too. I like to get an excuse to restore it too!

That's got to be too risky to get sent to the UK and will be well over $500 never mind the import duty on top, not sure you will even get insurance if it breaks?

Got to be easier to pay the $55 US postage and get sent to Ken to get it brought over in a container?

Much safer and much cheaper but obviously much longer to wait if this ends u being the only option.

If you can find someone locally who can do a good vinyl rather than screen print its got to be the way to go, I have a PA screen printed repro and its got a couple of bubbles in it where its lifted off the glass so its not perfect.

About how this theme turned out:

Finally, I got the "Ice Cold Beer" (TAITO) decal scanned at 600 dpi and restored it. I made a quote to make the decal the real metallic color of the bezel, i.e. like the original, but the quote didn't seem attractive enough to him.

As always, I give my best in my restorations.

As the user also wanted to change the control panel overlay, I started the restoration to print it with the same real metallic gold color of the bezel, but the user didn't want to continue and I abandoned the restoration. I may finish the control panel restoration if someone is interested in a restoration exactly like the original, i.e. with the real metallic gold colors.

A printing machine that prints in metallic ink is rare and expensive, but one that prints directly on rigid supports is even more so.

Another important thing is the logistics of sending glass by international transport agency due to the delicate nature of the matter and the cost.

I have no problem sending glass made to measure and completely finished, as long as I am paid for the work of ordering and collecting the glass in the workshop and assembling it with the decoration, and, regarding the shipment, that person pays for the packaging and the insurance that I always take as mandatory. Besides, a package like this has to go through customs. A package this large does not go unnoticed nor is it possible to claim a value of less than €20.

I have finished restoring "Ice Cold Beer Control Panel Overlay" (TAITO) for fun and to have the excuse of having one more file already finished.

Of course, as I do in all my restorations, I use the same colors on all the pieces that make up the set. This panel also incorporates the real gold color.
