Hello Ukvacer's,

I bought the spare atari system 1 cab from the Manchester raid running Indy Jones.

So for those that never saw the for sale the cab had a faulty monitor, early pics showed the game running fine but the monitor was iffy & then the monitor went faulty before I bought it, I was expecting today to switch it on, the monitor be totally dead but the game running blind, remove the chassis, send away for repair & then happy days but that may not be exactly the case so just want some advice.

The monitor is actually showing this weird pattern

The game isn't running blind, this is my first system 1 cab so should the game automatically boot up into Indy Hones? I have fiddled with the volume so that's not on minimum.

So just wondering if anyone can give me an idea on where to start please?

Thanks

Damn, that's confirmed what I was thinking but scared to say, only time I've had the same picture was as you say a pcb fault on a beast busters cab so not looking good then.

The characters all bounce about btw & keeps changing after each powerup,IndyJones2015-07-14 16:53:55

Remove your video signal (PCB), turn on the monitor and take a look a the picture: do you have a solid white image on your screen (turn up the "screen" pot on the EHT if the image is grey)? If yes, the issue is not monitor related.

Removed the video signal & the screen just lights up, can't get to the back of the cab atm, I think the monitor is basically on it's last legs as mentioned in the cabs for sale thread, took a good few minutes the first time I fired it up for anything to appear on the screen at all, sadly I was expecting the IJ logo & instead got a load of dancing garbage

Do you have a system1 cab??

When I remove the IJ daughterboard I am still getting some garbage on the screen but nothing is moving, plug the IJ card back in & I get the dancing garbage again, with no daughterboard plugged in what should I be getting onscreen?

Wondering now if it could even be the actual mainboard that is faulty instead/or both even.

Dude can you answer my pm about the +5 and the pic as requested and I will sort this. The tech thread is kind of pointless as we sold it with working boards so that's what you will get.

Help me to help you

I thought I answered your pm yesterday? sorry, will do again & send that pic this time.

It's my first system1 cab so not sure what I should be getting on the screen with the IJ daughterboard removed, wondered if someone knew, thought it may save some expense replacing parts that may be ok.
