Still a bit too cold for outside at the mo for me, I shall insulate the garage a.k.a gamesroom this summer.

Still just thought I'd share behold my indoor (winter rig):-

Yeah it looks bad doesn't it, weird as it seems but the whole of the outer case of that old gateway pc is made of plastic, doesn't look like it does it?

That's why I used that very case as I thought hmmmm handy that.

@Alpha1 yes sir I had the do Jrok's mod, burn one eprom I think is what I did, can't seem to see it on his website now??

Also will do this over the coming months:-

http://www.jrok.com/project/gallag/gallag_color_correction.htm

Colour correction for the white text as on a Gallag board it has a slight pink tinge.

Hope that helps.

Wouldn't have mattered anyway particularly as long as you were careful as all the chips are face down on the bottom of that board. Only a big deal if it's the pin side of things on metal

Not that I wouldn't you a piece of cardboard to be safe anyway (had the case been metal!)

Nice ghetto rig dude! I also like the ambivalence towards the life of anybody or anything nearby with that lovely open frame monitor
smiley17.gif
. I guess you've got past/never had the "scared of monitors" phase though, which is a plus

.

Good to see another test rig though - we need more people keeping the games alive!

Yeah, It did give me a little lick the other day when I was swapping the yoke wires to invert the picture. (Via the other connector which Hanty's have for this, great idea that)

I might just make some yoke switches (like on one of my cabs in the garage) as they take away the need to fish around in the back of the chassis.

The ambivalence towards others isn't too great though, I have no pets and it's only me and the Mrs at the mo in our house, and she has seen me get zapped before so she knows damn well not to start putting her hand near it

Your correct dude it's got to a point where I don't mind messing with them now, but still respect them for the possible damage they can do!

Although if the tube exploded in that little room and fired sharp glass at me I'd be fu*ked wouldn't I?

(Don't tell the Mrs that!
smiley36.gif
) She would want to ban it to outside then!!

Speaking of keeping stuff alive, any thoughts on something simple to try next on op wolf? Can you tell me how to probe the sound processor? Is it a Z80 for sound on those?

Sorry....I'll go over to the op wolf tech thread.

Just feel bad for not having Unit504's pcb done yet!

Thanks for your time and words.

Good call, I like your thinking, that spare room is quite small and the more room the better.
