Hi Great refurb

I keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end as I'm also in the process of doing the same on a Daytona Twin, which at the moment equates to fixing things and restoring everything "2X" unfortunately

I have a similar sound issue where the sound would cut out from the slave machine occasionally. I tried fiddling with one of the looms that connect to the master at the back of the cabinet and it was definitely suspect and would cause the sound to short or blast out at full volume. It then tripped the power and when I retried switching-on it trips again. So I tried disconnecting the suspect loom and it powers up however with no sound on the master this time, The loom is links to the coin box test/service and speaker volume control. Any ideas on how to investigate this further. Incidentally I have a strange readout on the slave steering pot measuring F3 centered although during play it appears to work although no feedback?

It will definitely be worth it! I put hundreds of £££s into this in the arcades. Top game! Especially in 2 player :)

Great work btw!

That is some true patience right there. Great photos showing all the hard work, no way I could even consider taking on something like that!

How you feeling mate? When ID-Itis kicks in it can be a bit heavy on the body, you gotta stay hydrated and make sure you eat plenty of cakes!
smiley36.gif

I'm currently fighting a bought of ID7-Itis, the car is at max tune and I'm constantly smashing into walls and loving every minute of it. At this moment in time I'm still on the fence regarding what version is more enjoyable, I still have a soft spot for ID2 and ID3. Even though the graphics are not as detailed the gameplay on ID2/3 is awesome.

ID2 still has the best selection of music imo.

im that sad i even downloaded the mp3's off youtube to play in my car hahaha........

you still thinking of linking them id7's or 8's? why did sega go down the route of using a ringedge as a server pc? thats just barmy if you ask me....and more expensive.....crazy

them cakes were super, but not so much so at 1am with a coffee then straight to bed lol.....i couldnt believe how big they were either......they looked smallish in that box lol.....

Trust me mate, you're not the only person to download Eurobeat MP3's.
smiley9.gif

Yeah if the cost isn't too high getting the server SSD image, then I'm gonna have a go at linking a pair of them up as I have all the other bits required now. I'm not sure how much the guy charges for the image on a SSD though, I'll provide the SSD so if he wants silly money then I'll probably wait until a server keychip turns up and use an original DVD.

That victory cake looks smashing and makes me want a piece right now!
smiley36.gif

I'm glad you and Mrs Terminator2K2 enjoyed the cakes.

I wish there was a way of changing the music in id3 to some of the later tracks from the manga series / dogfight /deja vu / ect
or a swap for the id2 music

<whistles innocently> honest I don't have the soundtracks on MP3 in my FTO <cough>
Recently went through 2nd redundancy in 4 years, but luckily got a new job straight after my old one finished (so far..usual 3 months 'probation' etc), haven't got the room for one at the moment, but did sort of promise myself one day I'd get an ID ....

My mate Downloaded Initial D Non Stop Megamix back in July 2001 looking at the file properties

We hammered our Dial Up connections till I got banned from BT try to replace all the music we had on tape and we used to get mixes anytime we saw them, I had no clue what it was then but found it in folder he'd added and played it, was hooked, put it on tape in the car, yep thanks to having crappy company cars it was still a tape player, at one point the tape got stuck in it so I listened to it all day every day for about 3 months
smiley36.gif
I think the car went back with it in saying that

One day I thought I'd google what this is all about and found it was from Cartoon from Japan, so when I saw the arcade game I had to have a go, so then that's it, had to add another machine on the wanted list

Sorry to drag up old threads on you guys,

but is there a reason so many pictures are missing from the Restoration Showcase topics?

Just wondered if it was a limit on the images you could show or store here?

Most likely they were held on 3rd party image servers that now no longer exist, checking a couple of images on the first page one of them pointed to jammaplus which closed years ago and others point to exterior sites.

I've started restoring the pictures, but honestly it's such a pain in the ass to do. I have to manually delete each image and then add the new URL for each one, and there's like 120 pics
