Hi,

I am looking to buy a computer that will handle online gaming(xbox360) and need advice on what system requirements I should look for to get the best performance for gaming requirements.

Some say Intel core 2 processor and others say AMD Processor?

What other things do I need to consider?

i.e what Graphics card and RAM should I have?

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm a bit confused about your mention of the Xbox360 and that you want to do online gaming. Are you looking for a system which will give you the equivalent power to an Xbox360?

Can you clarify that and also give us some idea of budget? Are you looking to upgrade an existing PC, if so can you let us know what hardware it supports i.e. PCI-e, AGP, PCI and what CPUs it supports?

I'd say the key points are to give an idea of the budget you've got for this and whether you want to buy a pre-built system or are happy to build your own.

cheers

I don't understand the requirement! You say you want to build a computer for online gaming and say xbox 360. So why do you need to know about PC components?

If want a gaming CPU buy Core i7 950 and above. Sandy Bridge if you can. Sandy Bridge won't be 950 tho that will be next gen i7 and I don't know what they're called.

[EDIT] Ha! Tim beat me to it
