Hi all,

Picked up this empty cabinet that was retro fitted at some point. Anyone recognise this cabinet. Be nice to know what make/model it is.

There were just like other generic upright game cabs a great number of cocktail tabletop makers., in the 80s the demand was very high as pub dual use tables earning potential from the video trend,

The leg designs were few and maybe supplied by seperate leg makers? But it looks like it may have been through a few lives from perhaps a monochrome Invader ? Space wars is , I think , a uniwars style of an upgrade kit on Konami scramble or Galaxian base boards (colour)

Maybe Nichibutsu or similar maker with a Toei or Hitachi c r t and early 80s 4way stick and 2 fire button game???

The Japanese instruction looks like a hitachi monitor trimming guide r gain g gain b gain v hold h position r background g background b background and vertical height adjust or similar before it left Asia for the UK ?
It’s clearly been restored in a fashion as through the 1990s these lost popularity and value down to just a few pounds and if broken were just neglected and often showed up on fly tips
It’s a survivor now and if you are happy to refit it as a project good on you….
Due to rarity of crt 14” monitors the temptation is there for past owners to stick in a LED tv monitor “simples” a freeplay button and basic control panel and an I-Cade multi game pcb .. it’s no longer original and often too late to turn back time?
However any home gamer might love it as it’s a game cocktail not a toy PlayStation so more “street cred”
Be happy it looks fine forget it’s history !

Really appreciate the info! I do plan to keep it and fit a retro pie or similar setup. Beats a boring coffee table every day of the week!!
