Hi,

Im planning to use one of 2 old laptops i have to run my mame cab. the thing is they dont allow switching out the graphics card obviously and therefore may not be able to run the low refresh rates and res required for an old monitor.

Assuming it does work (either newer monitor or flexible VGA output) whats the best convertter to use to connect the monitor to the VGA / DVI

Thanks again

Owen

They actually might be able to display the low refresh rates but the drivers dont show the options by default.

Try Soft15Khz to see if it detects the graphics card. you might be lucky.

Yep. These convertors work pretty good. You'd have to get a 5V power from somewhere, most laptops dont have that readily available but any random and easily sourceable powerbrick should do that.
