Word is it's 'fog gaming' using arcade machines out of hours.

Ok, I'd no idea what Fog Gaming is so had to google it, and found this:

https://metro.co.uk/2020/06/03/sega-fog-gaming-service-arcades-was-secret-big-reveal-12797619/

I still don't get it.

I'm trying to work it out too! If your local arcade (Japan) streams games to your house on what? Your telly, laptop, mobile, fridge? How strong would the hardware outputting the streaming have to be to service all these out of hours arcade users?

Maybe they stream to the GG Micro

I think the funniest thing in all this is how they stitched up the Famitsu reporter, somebody at Sega must have really hated him.

Sega rep was like:

"look we've got a massive scoop, it's too big to announce on our 60th anniversary so we want you and only you to announce it for us the day after!"

knowing full well they intended to announce it on the Anniversary.

In hindsight more alarm bells should have rang

Urghh I take that back looks like it was announced by Zenji Nishikawa from Famitsu after all.

The mini GG would be pretty cool if it was twice the size (think GB Advance original) and had 50 games on it, with a backdoor to hacking in ALL the GG games onto it.

This is what a bunch of people have done with rasp pies etc. - but an official product would be very cool. The minis do look kinda nice.

Agreed.. they do look ridiculously small. Then again the GB Micro was quite playable, although this looks smaller from memory... hopefully they'll get hacked as well!
