Hi Guys,

Just re-found this forum after some time and thought i would share my project with you..
Its only part complete, so I will upload photos as i go. All comments / suggestions / improvements welcome.

Basically the idea is to build a 3/4 scale of dig dug, using a centipede cab for the original measurements, this is for my 3yr old (to grow in to !). Im gonna build this and put a 60 in 1 or mame setup in it so he can play some different games.... break him into the collecting hobby slowly lol.

i got the wood yard to cut all the square cuts, and then it was freehand jigsaw for the angles..

please excuse the crappy pictures, my iphone has something wrong with the camera/flash

Wish my Dad built me an arcade machine when I was 3, had to wait until I was 22 for my first one, all good from there though. Is it a Christmas present ?

Andy.

Great work, nice little cab.

Looks like you got the sides nice and flat. Not easy to do with plywood (Not the stuff local here) :)

Looking forward to more

just a quick update on this. its still not finished, was waiting for a router bit, took 5 weeks to arrive and is the wrong size, so still waiting. without that i cant cut the t-mold groove, which means i cant put the final coat of paint on, so no artwork yet, but........

I have installed a 14" scart monitor, after de-casing, a 60-1 jamma board, psu, speaker, lighting tube, etc, and its all up and running. Except of course for the control panel, which is still being made by my friend in the metal shop.....

heres a couple of pics. (im not a photographer btw ;)

I still need to hide the door hinges and redo the artwork - it's all been sun bleached from where it was in storage.

ok, so i F*#$ed up big time :(

My router bit just arrived, and its years since i used one so thought i better try it on an offcut. successful cut first time :), so check the t-mold fits........

i used 16mm ply, and the T-mold appears to be around 18mm ? so i have an overhang on both sides of the wood, damn it. can you get t-molding that is like 2mm smaller ? its gonna take a lot of painting to raise the wood by 2mm :(

Thanks for the suggestion Andy, but i think with the level of my woodworking skill that is going to be a disaster lol... ive ordered the t-molding so gotta wait for that now !
