Right just wanted to let people know about my experiance with JVC Leisure...

http://www.jvcleisure.co.uk/

As i was have a nightmare of a time trying to fix my cops n robbers fruit machine, i spoke to a george hill at bell fruits,

the guy was very helpful and did all he could via the phone of corse to help me sort my reel error issue.

We had put it down to Reel 5 (Dice reel) motor had gone bad.

But i had also at the same time arranged for JVC leisure to come over to sort out the fruitie, well they turned up before i got home so the misses had let them in to look at the fruitie, they must have been there around 10/15mins before i got there.

I asked them what the conclusion was on the machine and they said it needs a new reel and mpu board, costing around £70 ish plus their time to fit it.

They said we know its the mpu as the lights are all staying on and the battery is dead and the machine has no sound. (it had no sound because they had cut off the wire going to the sound plug!!!!).

They then left and said they would call me next week with the new parts.

in the mean time (andrew) andrewberwick06, came over to have a look at the machine for me, and brought over a reel from his machine.... So he plugged it in and guess what............ it worked the machine was all working again!!!

Well... we then found out the coin mech had stop working.. really odd..! So andrew put in a donor mech and ta dar working and accepting coin again!

but the pay lines do not recognise the fruits only the swags win lines.

So i dunno what JVC Leisure actually did but what ever it was it was not good!!! I felt a little annoyed to say the least!!

We did admittedly did get some extra error come up on the machine later that night but that was to do with me messing around with the coin shoots and that... And we have now see some corrosion on the mpu.

So looks like the fruit is gonna be parted out

But big thanks to andrewberwick06 for all the help with the poorly fruitie!

I know a few people who've done deals with JVC and not had any problems, but perhaps this is a case of being lucky in knowing the right person - or not in this case.

The one bit I'm unsure about is whether the JVC tech was the one who cut the sound wiring?

If you've got battery corrosion then it sounds like you were heading for problems anyway until you could locate a new MPU, but it still sucks if they chopped the sound wires for no reason!

The JVC tech cut off the sound plug, as i know 100% all the plugs were fine.

One thing i know is the machine ONLY had a reel fault and nothing else.

when they left it had :

a Reel error (as before) needing a new coin mech, they had cut the sound wires plug off!, and they said the mpu is dead

The corrosion i don't think is anything to do with the faults/errors now that i created from my fiddling about.

As they are related to the coin tubes, The mpu still works and holds a charge on the battery.

I forgot to mention when i said to them about i had a guy at bell fruits look at it they just said,

"ummm and put the phone down on me!"
