The cab needs some repairs on the base and on the low corners.
Then a fresh paint would be good too....

I already bought the classic buttons panel....
I'll mount it when i fix the cab.
:)

Nice, but trackballs on a TnF? Am I missing something?

i didn't know there's such a version neither!! it'd be good for combat school though.

Yes
They are not so common even in US.....
And of course me too prefer the normal buttons version...since this is the version i remember when i was young.
Fortunately i was lucky to found one classic panel too....

Nice one! Looking forward to getting mine, which is gonna need a heck of a lot more work than yours!
Funnily enough I was looking on eBay yesterday for a replacement control panel for when my machine lands, and I found a guy in the US selling 2 of these trackball versions. I've heard of them before and the sound of it is just weird!
Snap on the CENTURI up and under coin door too, that's like on mine!
I'll follow your resto with interest.Jase2016-10-31 19:01:18

I have one coming soon also, though it needs restoring too. I don't think muddy has got the side art for this yet. It's the first cab people head for, when I have had a party in the past. I do have the UK cab but I love the look of the US version.

Totally, the US version is easily the coolest!
So I reckon that's 3 sets of side art straight away when Muddy is ready?
If someone can take one side of theirs off and send it to me for scanning I'll get it vectored as a priority and get a batch made up.

Well....
Mine needs some works, especially in the low parts of the cabinet, since had some damage in the wood.
I'm now thinking to empty the cab and bring it to a carpenter (which is a relative of my wife) and ask him to restore it (and to do the back cover that is missing on this machine)....
I just need to know how much money this could be.
I already have nearly all i need to have it restored completely...
- replacement buttons panel
- Artworks (Side Arts and CP Art)
- another Wells Gardner 19" monitor (coming from an old Super Hang On)
- Hyper Sports 84 board
- Konami 88 board
- (also Hyper Athlete)...
Since i want to put inside atleast T&F and Hyper Sports 84 pcb together, with a jamma switcher (nearly finished the adapters too)...
I only miss the monitor bezel (but there's a guy in US that should have the repro for sale), and my marquee is not wonderful but i need to check if i can polish it....

I also prefer the Centuri single coin door too, but i like the two side version too....

Muddy, if you want i can send you the artworks i bought (pics below), if you think this could be of any good use:

Cracking Game and Cab, can't say i'd fancy playing with trackballs either, but kinda nice to get it with that panel and have the choice of either
smiley1.gif

So how do the trackballs connect to the pcb, the buttons are just through the konami connection, are these connected seperate? or same just of out interest

Wasn't this style cab in the Goonies when chunk splats his milkshake over the window, you can see it in the reflection

I saw one of these on ebay uk years back, was on for £750 seem to remember, would of liked the full size taitel really but the small ones fit in anywhere and just a good when playing, well it was all about the game on the screen in the old days for me

Well i got no choice since i look for this cab for years and that one was the only available, so i have to buy it with this trackball panel....
Fortunately i manage to find a buttons one....
So now i can choose (but i'll only use the buttons one for sure)....

On one trackball there is a little pcb that is needed for the tracbkballs to work.

Cannot remember it in the Goonies movie (and i see that a zillion times

)....now i'll go check it again for curiosity.

I've never see them for sale from when i start collecting arcade machines (more than 10 years now), otherwise i've bought it for sure.
This is one of my grails.....
I remember when my parents gave me the C64 tape of this game....
Loved it since....
