Did you ever solve your Problem?

I just tried to put some new lindbergh drive boards in my ferrari Twin to Play outrun 2.

I got 2 different errors:

-drive board not connected

-drive board: (1) original point error

The steering Wheel is not turning during bootup, is this normal on Lindbergh cabs?

It was turning when i had installed the chihiro like on model 3 bootup.

Can someone show some pictures of how the boards are connected or a bootup Video.

On Ringedge the steering wheel turns at the initialisation message.
I would guess Linbergh does the same thing.

Let me know what pictures you need and I'll take some from my home made ID8 setup.
I'm using a Model 3 wheel from a Sega Rally 2 and it works OK.

My wheel is not initialising at the startup. I got two cabs, on one cab the Drive Board has ä flashing light, the other board nothing happens...

I can't help with how you have your cab wired, but both boards should flash before they initialise.
I've just taken a short movie from power up of the Ringedge to loaded into the game.

At 27 seconds Ringedge Posts and one of the LED's on the I/O board goes solid.
At 1:32 the FFB Initialises and then the flashing LED on the drive board goes solid.

What I/O board are you using?
Have you swapped/changed any of the wiring around?
If I remember correctly you have to change something when swapping from Midi drive board to Serial drive board.

Pic of my wiring if that helps?

One mistake I did when wiring the loom was to joining RX to RX instead of TX to RX and RX to TX.
Also, what brand of RS485/422 convertor are you using? Apparently some convertors can cause issues.

Could this be I/O board related? I know a type 3 is used in Lindbergh/Ringedge, but Soundmaster is using a type 2 I believe (F355 cab).

I've never had anything post Chihiro so I'm just guessing on this.. might be worth trying though.

Thanks again for the help. The Videos are Vera usefull. Because the lack of time i wasnt able to take pictures, but My board has almost the same flashing red led. But its flashing all the time Also after ä few minutes. My converter board is defenitely ä different on 232 to 422 only. Will take pictures tomorow.

I have the jvs board typ 2 and i think thats why the shifters are Not working. I dont think That is causing the drive board error.
I think i have to swap it anyway....

I stumbled on this thread when I was wondering something...

What sega drive boards / hardware is needed to run a lindbergh.

Have a Model 2 racer: Sega Rally

and a Model 3 racer: Sega Rally 2 / Daytona 2

What would be required to power a lindbergh for initial D/Outrun / R-tuned (i think its called)?

Anyone know?

Would a new dash/motor/encoder/driveboard/power supply/amps be needed? or is some stuff re-usable.

thanks

You can reuse the dash and some of the wiring from the drive boards to the wheel, and of course the step down. So you would need to source/make the rest of the loom, use a type 3 I/O + serial drive board and some other bits and bobs like serial convertor etc. Since you have 24khz monitors you would also need at the bare minimum a convertor/monitor that accepts 31khz or a 720p LCD.

If you had a JVS driver like Outrun/Initial D 1-3, Club Kart it would be a much easier conversion.
