I recently picked up a Lindbergh Yellow that had very low sound output, you had to have the Amp fully turned up to hear anything, and even then it sounded distorted.
I discovered that the issue was the OP AMP there are 3 x 8 pin surface mount JRC 4556 A519 IC's
these are located at IC5 IC6 and IC7 and are responsible for the 3x stereo outputs on the sound card for all 6 channels of audio
as I didn't have any spare ones on hand I just swapped two over, as per the red arrows in the pic, This means I have lovely stereo sound but no center/sub, I doubt I'll ever use the surround sound feature anyway so no big loss
They are tiny chips and very fiddly to swap over, so dont try this for your first soldering job
