Hi chaps,

Any of you going to this on Sunday?

http://www.londongamingmarket.com

I'll be 'working' but meeting up with Chun and a few others.

I'm staying overnight in London on Saturday so might swing by... maybe I should have got a table at this to sell stuff instead of buying!

Tell me about it. I'm supposed to be saving money but have a sneaky feeling that I will be spending a bit.

oh man, this looks great... might have to try and reorganise some things so I can come along.

Just in case I can't, could somebody update this thread with a mini review of the event, especially as I see the plan is to have it every 4 months.

I'll be taking the official photos for the event but if I spot an awesome deal, it's every man for himself!

i'd like to see how you balance taking care of the camera and rooting through boxes of games.

i think i will root through games at each stand, and then take photos before i move onto the next.

I also popped in but was hard to get anywhere near the stalls! So many people... London is crying out for more retro traders. People were polite but it's hard to keep your cool with so much stuff on the table and so many people pressing in. I reached over some 3 different people and apologiesed every time - just got carried away. Majority of prices were too high but not Retrohunter who held back a few good things for me

spent far too much but glad I went. Definitely worth checking out all the stalls before purchasing as the variations in price were quite noticeable. Some guy wanted £15 for a particular cable and I got it for £10 at the next stall etc. After a couple of hours it was mainly the common titles left or those that were over priced. Nice to talk with one or two at least.

I think I'll put more of my money into arcade stuff rather then retro consoles from now on.

I went along but it was just too busy for my liking, can't be doing with people 3 deep, the full width of the stall at every games store, unable to get to anything with any ease and without squashing against several people. Also hard to see what was on the table at any given place without just 'queueing' and little scope to then move sideways once you reached the table.

Guess if it's busy it's gonna be like that with a stall set up and there's nothing you can do about that other than add more stalls!

Clearly there's a demand for this sort of thing in London based on how many were there today.

i was there with uberpixel for the entire thing, he was there at 8am! and i got there at 9:30am and helped set up etc. did anyone see us?!?! i guess in the future we need to make a better effort to meet up else we just walk right by each other.

i didn't take any photos cos i was having too much fun.... don't be daft, i took tons of photos. just realised though that i haven't paid for my flickr subscription so will have to think about where to upload them.

yes, the crowds were crazy. luckily i did most of my browsing before it started. i wasnt expecting much but was a bit disappointed that there were no computer games, just consoles. not many imports neither. it was good to see that a lot of people came out with happy faces and bags of goodies. i did find the pricing on the high side considering people had to pay to get it (even though it was only a fiver in the morning and 2 quid later on in the afternoon).
