Please mods, if you think this will turn into a nightmare thread, delete it, it isnt meant to be me causing a scene, just after some opinions on something i have read about 2 minutes ago and i don't fully understand, so i hope someone can shed some light or at least give some opinions that arent full of hate/bias

So i have just read an article on the BBC news, and i will link the article

LINK

So this reads to me, that girls are doing better in school than boys, for whatever reason, i think girls are a lot more mature than boys so are in general academically cleverer, whether that is correct or not, just my thoughts as a parent of 2 boys and 1 girl, my boys did ok in school, my girl has just got A star A-Levels

So it looks like schools have been targeting boys to try and get the level of education more balanced from this "report"

The article then points to a series that was eye opening for a lot of people, and i thought it was very good and it probably educated a lot of people on things they weren't aware of, but i am not sure how this is linked to attainment levels.

I don't think the show in question was aiming to raise the fact boys are being left behind, more that some people haven't got a clue what their kids are watching or doing online and in groups, something i haven't ever had a problem with.

My daughter has just finished her A-Levels, she starts Uni next month, she attended the 4th highest achieving college in the country and was top of her class for her results, is it really girls being left behind or really bad parenting going on with certain demographics?

I don't know, i hate this whole, "they are treated better than those" narrative that people peddle, i think everyone has a chance to strive if they have the right mindset

Maybe just a Friday night rant after a pretty bad day in work, but please don't reply if you are going to be extreme with your views.
