just the standard mame program im quite happy with without any frontend but it only displays 15 games at a time. is there anyway to alter this so you can scroll down past that?

Well you can make a bat file to boot to just one game with no frontend, but the only thing close to what you want, is still going to have to be menu driven, there is a mame build where you can select games from within the usual mame (tabbed) menu though, I think it's this one (I might have got the wrong one), http://sourceforge.net/projects/mameplus/

Apologies I don't think I explained it properly.
I'm using the mame emulator menu.
I suppose that is sorta a frontend, there's a menu.
This here --> http://mamedev.org
But only up to 15 Roms display in the menu. Can't find options anywhere Mame4All2014-05-18 09:41:36

Iv tried loads of front ends, can't seem to get them to work. I'm just looking a simple interface that's easy to setup, no farting about with hyperspin or similar stuffMame4All2014-05-18 10:14:15

Use groovymame. Calamity incorporated a patch of mine a version or two ago that sorts the list out - alphabetical and all available games.

I found Mala very easy to get working and set up a few different lists, only about 30 games total so far.

Also groovymane does indeed fix the normal mame list so that it scrolls.
