Way back (seems like...) when I was out of work, I bought a few bits of DMX lighting equipment to play with (I like shiny things!).
Last one I got was a Martin Acrobat that just happened to be about 5 minutes walk from the g/f's parents house, so she picked it up,saved the £15 postage (as they weight a 'bit' !), got the unit for £22.
Didn't fire up when I tried it ,but it had been sold as not working from a local theatre so no suprises, bulb was toast.
Well, fast forward 1.5 years, I finally got around to looking for a replacement bulb, got one for £8 on ebay, fitted tonight, fired straight up in standalone mode ! Really doesn't seem like 1.5 years since I got it !
Sounds like they were/are well liked in the mobile DJ community as well, I just like the shiny lights. Next step is to try DMX control , I bought a USB <--> DMX adapter back at the time I bought the few lights to play with, and have a couple of different apps on my old laptop .
