Mega annoying

Every time I click on a forum to read on my ipad using the ukvac app it launches my browser and takes me to the link below, which appears to be blank.

I then have to close this and re launch the vac app, when I do it's on the page I selected.

Hope this makes sense and someone knows what the hell is going on.

Yes if I stay on the new posts tab everything's ok it's only when I change from this to the forums tab etc.

I have recently noticed this on the iphone app. I havn't/cannot replicate this at will but on the iphone the app closes and opens safari with an 'api.google'domain which is a blank page.

Smarty - that sounds like an issue I've reported to Dan privately and which should be fixed in the next release. I found that signing in/out of all Google services on my phone made a difference but I'm as yet unable to stop it happening completely.

No, it will still work with ios5/6 but will also have some of the nicer looking buttons for ios7. As an aside I have my phone on ios7 and ipad on 5.1. Of the two looks I'm preferring the ios7 one now. The battery issues with ios7 also hit when ios6 was new, there are many ways to make it better.

I guess this fix was not implemented when you did the site reboot last week?
It must have happened 50 times to me today. In fact it has happened 3 times just doing this post.

Please let us know when it has been done just so I know in case their is a problem with my phone.

Hi Steve, no it's not been implemented yet, it's ready to go out for testing but I've just not had the time. As a workaround if you use the "New Posts" tab on the app you don't get the Safari popups. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Steve. We're doing final testing of the app at the moment and it's hopefully imminent! Sorry for the annoying popups. I use it too and it does make me grrr!

It's the iOS app that needs updating. We have it in beta testing now. There's one final tweak to test and then it's ready to go, should be in the next week or so (once xmas is out of the way basically). The iOS7 release has kind of muddied to the iOS waters a bit, keeping the app looking reasonable running on iOS5,6 and 7 is proving a challenge!
