If you can find it in your hearts .........

Ok I am sure some of you will know and some wont but its Mental Health awareness week. This is something very close to my heart and if you can find it in your hearts to give a little something then it will make a massive difference to them who need the help the most.

You cant give what you want and there is many charities out there but I give to Mind , They do a lot.

You can Dontae here :-

Just trying to do my bit & sorry if me doing this offends anyone.

Dave.

***** PS - If you have a friend or family member who has mental health issues , Now is the time to text or call to ask how they are *****

missed this at the time, this is something the government should be sorting out rather than funding criminals and filtering money to rich friends and benefactors

it really is a big problem, and i think its a bigger problem in males around our age and there is stigma attached to admitted you need help, and i'm as guilty as anyone

It's an issue that people still sadly struggle with discussing, particularly amongst the male population as already mentioned.

I've seen things start to improve within professional environments, but there is still a long way to go. I know an excellent mental health first aid trainer so if anybody is interested in them doing some sessions with the people you work with I can drop their details over, it's becoming increasingly important as the younger generations making their way into the workplace.

I can see there is an epidemic on its way with the culture the young have been brought up with, everything at the click of a button, 24/7, few people genuinely switch off anymore.

I've personally suffered before, particularly with an episode of complete burnout, many view it as weakness, in truth much of the time it's being too resilient for too long, hence a big crash.

Unless you've been there personally, it's an incredibly difficult thing to understand, so anything that raises genuine awareness is a great thing.

I actually see this coming from the WFH gang, they've yet to realise being closed off is going to be bad for them.

Social media plays a large part in the spread of mental health issues, 'keeping up with the Joneses' and wanky influencers are a large part of feeling left out/missing out on doing things, never mind photo shopped images, burn them all and just go back to forums ;)

Unfortunately kids today are losing the ability of communication due to phones / pc. Bullying is worse than it used to be , They have it all day at school and then all night on socials. Its never ending. They come home and spend all night in there rooms, Keyboard warriors doing & saying all sorts on there. I learned to socialise in pubs and by going out every night, Even thats been taken away now. (Not as drinking is a good thing)

Its a shame,

Dave.

They can say video games are partly to blame, we had video games in the 80's and I don't know how many hours I spent completing Last Ninja 1 and 2 but we still went out on our BMX's loads, upto no good half the time but we were outside, down the park, going shops, going arcades, buying records, games etc
Didn't come home and go straight in bedroom all night every night like my Nephew but when you can communicate through all the technology it creates the society were now seeing, Video Games are heavily promoted now too, far more than our day
