Hi all taking the metal parts off a couple of jamma cabs to get powder coated and the glass is going to get the print put back on as it's in a sorry state but I'm having trouble getting the metal trim off at the bottom of the cab that you would put your foot on, I've took out the screws and I imagine it's just pins holding it in place but it won't budge so was wondering if I'm having a blonde moment or there is some trick I don't know about 😂 picture attached.
The other thing is one cab has an old mechanical coin mech in it with the switch tied to inside of the door to credit it but would like to use it like a proper cab so looking for help with this as I don't know anything about these old mechs.
Picture added.
Cheers Brian

The metal foot bar looks exactly like the one on my Leisure 2000 cabinet.
There are 3 screws (which you can remove) and 3 internal spot welded bolts which the nuts can only be accessed with the machine base removed. The bad news; the base is stuck down and not bolted, you’ll almost certainly damage the woodwork trying to remove it as it appears to be permanently glued in place.

You are best doing what I did; rub down the metal bar and spray paint it in situ.
Mark off the surrounding area with tape and old newspaper/cardboard and give it a few coats of black Hammerite Smooth.

With the coin switch, there’s two bolts which screw into the side of the blue switch that hold it the the bottom of the coin housing bracket.

This is how it should look when secured in place…

Brilliant thanks for this I thought it might be something like that with the trim and it is a leisure 2000 cab so it will be staying in place, bent a corner up trying to get it off will have to sort that now 😡
Thanks for the pic of the coin mechanism that's what I need,I don't think any coins I put in are going to the bottom though this includes the old large 10p and the newer ones.

The coin mech should be set to accept only one type of 10p (either the old larger one or the new smaller coin).
If coins are getting stuck inside the coin mech after inserting them and not dropping through to the bottom then the mech might need an adjustment, a good clean or it is simply broken.

Just to add ….. the new small 10p coin
You would need to adjust to a specific type:

For S10 validator…..

1993-2011 made of copper base metal and width of 1.7mm usually a lion on tails side but 2008 pattern was changed to the piece of the uk shield

THEN 2012 onwards pattern remained same apart from a few special issues eg alphabet series etc. BUT THE METAL BASE CHANGED TO STEEL. Cheaper to manufacture but weigh exactly same for banking simplicity HOWEVER. For coin accepters the coin now was wider at 1.9mm so jammed in width control also steel is magnetic so traps on the washer magnet which needs to be removed on S10 mechs . ( also requires electric Mars mechs to be reprogrammed)

You only really see the difference if you stack 10 older copper ones next to 10 new steel ones the height is excess of a full coin! If you have a lot of small 10p coins easy to sort them …. Just wave a speaker magnet or any magnet over them and only the >2012 date will pick up !

Over the years coin changing has been a bane for arcade operators Even 1p & 2p changed copper to steel (magnetic) in 1994 the 50p went small in 1997 then £1 coin changed in 2017 ….. then all the notes …..at a cost of many £thousands… rant over!!

We did find a use for all the magnets removed from coin mechs….. we have steel beams in our house so in the dining room …. Beer barrel 3” cap fridge magnets just hot melt to manufacture!!!
Found in pub cellars where we supplied hide away jukeboxes….
