I thought some might be interested to know that someone has written a MiSTer core to be the GPU connected via LAN to a MAME PC /Pi.
If gives latency apparently lower than a native PCI PC Card!
The MiSTer doesn’t yet handle sound or controls so the PC needs to be nearby for now, but it saves farting around with old cracked GPU drivers etc.
MiSTer can output over virtually any possible connection and MHz and many of us have them hooked up to CRTs via our cabs, so this is a really interesting development allowing us to play games not yet supported natively and perhaps games too powerful for the MiSTer (Model 3, Dreamcast etc)
I think it works for GroovyMAME, Retroarch and Mednafen for now.

It’s not on the update all script so will needed to be manually downloaded if you want to play with it.
