more MiSTer woes, so it appears that something is wrong, and i dont know what

some arcade cores load fine, some dont, the ram test doesnt work and non of the console cores run anymore

just took it all apart and cleaned it all, can run some arcade cores without issues, and some console cores will load but not run games

this thing has become a PITA if im being honest, and expensive PITA at that

dont think it will be the DE10 as if it was, why would some cores run and not others....going to do a complete reinstall tomorrow on the SD card...last chance saloon

It’s your 128mb memory stick… assuming you have one? If not none of the things you’ve listed will work, only the smallest of cores.

well i thought that, but cores that don't need RAM load but don't run games

i removed the stick and tested the NES and Mega Drive cores, they wont run games, but for example Pac-Man and Donkey Kong work fine

You’d expect those old 80s arcade cores to run. The other behaviour I’d kind of expect too. The fact it fails the memory test suggest you should start there.

I’d put money on the 128mb expansion. I’ve got some bits spare, let me see if I still have a spare stick I could send you.

that is a lovely gesture, but let me do my SD card first, this isnt the first time i have used update_all and its gone belly up, happy to pay postage and to pay for anything i may keep also
