Just bought one of these on pre-order. Quite excited as I've been messing about a lot lately with some of my Jamma Cabs using Pandora Box's, MAME PC Setups etc so hoping this will be a bit more simple to use and more 'plug-and-play', though I believe that there's limitations on the game 'cores' - but looks to be plenty of things to play on.
I did look at the original multisystem a few years back but couldn't get hold of a DE-10 Nano, but this has the FPGA built in.

Anyone got any experience with the non-jamma version?

Just ordered one today too, I've been using a non Jamma MiSTer for over 6 years now and it's about the best you are going to get outside of original hardware New cores are being worked on all the time. and due to it not being MAME, there isnt 1000's of games to scroll through
Hopefully a menu can be made that will let it show screenshots, like the one planned for the SuperSytem one console

Bought and sold the non-jamma version at launch. HATED the 3D printed case for a few reasons, and the built in SCART output was poor - I ended up having to use a VGA>SCART cable.

Heber blamed my equipment for not being properly SCART compatible, despite them (off the shelf normal TVs) working with everything else.

Suspect there's been a revision by now but that soured me on Heber's stuff.

Oh really, that's interesting. I'd have hoped their customer service would be pretty good to resolve issues like that.
Really hoping this one's just plug and play!

Sorry if you had that experience. We (Heber) do try not to blame anything, we see a massive range of equipment people want to use, displays are a big part of that experience. We also sold the Multisystem originally via a distributor (the Retro Group) and only decided to do our own shop about 18 months later. I would still hope you had good advice at the time, but we always try to help as much as possible.

We often state the Multisystem has a RGB SCART designed for UK/Euro SCART TV's as we often get people trying to connect it to various other interfaces when it's designed for Euro SCART.
That said, B&O TV's often fail to sync on the SCART output. We have a valid signal level, but some B&O tv's just don't like to sync.Other than that we don;t get many complaints with the RGB SCART Output and we do have an onboard Composite sync circuit in hardware that tries very hard to cover as many CRT's as possible.

We then improved things with the Multisystem2 so even more B&O tv's now sync properly on RGB Scart via our mini-din connection.
The Multisystem2 Arcade is another evolution of the system, matched to Arcade monitors, but also quite capable of working on VGA,CGA and TV's too.

Thank you for engaging and for being so open with the project @multisystem

I appreciate you won’t want to be negative about the MiSTercade but perhaps you could give me an idea if I would get any improvements over a MiSTercade 1.1 with your system?

Appreciate the response Richard and it's clear how passionate you and Heber are with these products.
Hope the pre-order phase goes well!

are these going to be limited or do you plan on making more, i only ask right now is a really bad time for me
No we always do open pre-orders, not limited batches, so don't worry. As soon as we are in full production we will also have stock available in the shop. This is the same way we did the last launch and it seemed to go well, no one missed out on getting what they wanted, when ready.

Sure, we have gone down the all-in-one design, so we can be in control of design and product approvals, MiSTer compatibility and also allow for future expansion.
Our CTRLDock Arcade onboard firmware will be open for community improvements and adding more functionality for specific Arcade controls and cabs etc.
We have added more Direct FPGA I/O for doing both imputs and outputs - like control of Chase HQ flashing lights and rumble motors in OutRun (for example).
Keeping full MiSTer compatibility is very important for us, it's the driving force behind the MiSTer project and we don't want to fork it or take over in any way, but we do want to keep on pushing things forwards with expansion I/O and extensions so we can continue to make more interesting hardware as time goes on.

We have big plans for more Arcade systems and hardware, we run an Arcade museum here so we know how difficult it is to keep machines in top condition.
I'm not really going to compare us against another product, they all have great reasons for existing, A modular system can be good for some things and we have a number of options for the DE10-nano original or clones / alternatives.

We spent a lot of time trying to get the original DE10-nano module approved (EMC/ EMI / FCC and emissions etc.) the DE10-nano cannot meet EMC approval in our experience, It's a development platform for FPGA evaluation. The only way we can get a product that can meet global EMC/FCC standards was to design it ourselves in order to be able to ship it worldwide.
After that, we have just designed what we believe the Arcade community will want, but are always fully open to ideas, improvements and more products.
