Great thread!

Very interesting story to see what started it all, and to see the direction you've gone in (drivers)

Other collectors might go off on the space shooter, puzzle game, fighter, laserdisc etc tangent

And of course all the cabs look absolute minters, but I wouldn't expect anything less from your good self!

And I must mention how helpful you were in getting my own OutRun upright to the standard I wanted it

I must do a similar thread on the machine I started with and all the machines that have come and gone in the last 15 years of being in the hobby

Nice. But you need to get rid of the duplicates and replace them with a Daytona 1 and Sega Rally 2!

I did consider a Daytona early on, but even back 7-10 years ago Model 2 stuff was proving flaky, so I thought I'd go no earlier than Model 3 (not that I had any real plan at the time to go this mad!).

You're right about Rally 2. If space permitted a Rally 2 twin with all the regalia would be my next cab - it's an awesome sight in it's full glory isn't it. It would have to be a twin though, so even if I outed one of the OR2 cabs (shudder!), I still wouldn't have space for the twin - gotta have a twin OR2/SP as it's the most played game when I get visitors.

I have a set of Rally 2 ROM boards though, so I can play the game in the Daytona 2 cab and it doesn't hurt to always have something to long for..

Yea, I never planned on going down the driver 'route', it just kinda happened. It was only ever really about owning an OutRun, but when I moved house and had extra room I'd already been inspired to try for an OutRun2.. and the rest just got out of hand from there! I remember nearly doing a deal on an upright Naomi cab - that would have been a joystick in the place - but I think the F355/2 deal came up and it never happened.

Your OutRun was exceptional - your gamesroom was great too, and of course the Tamiya RCs was a nice addition to the retro vibe.

It's funny, I've been watching that great documentary recently, 'The Vietnam War' - I always think of you and the good 'ole Huey when I'm watching it!

Added a video walkaround to the original post to try and introduce some atmosphere to the words and static pictures. Bit crap as for some reason I seem to have been shaking..

..probably amazed they were all working!!
