Apart from Space Invaders I also have a soft spot for Defender.
This is my collection for all to enjoy.

First off is a Williams Defender Cocktail.

I just got it up and running again today.

Joysticks need tidying up but it's all original.

It still runs on 110v and I use an external stepdown from 240v.

Taito Defender Upright

All original and the last complete and working Taito Defender in Australia with original PCB set (as far as I know).

It has cigarette burn patina from where the kids in the 80's would rest their smokes on the bezel.

New Zealand Built Defender

'Chastronics Cabinet'

Runs a Defense Command PCB.

It's missing the original glass bezel.

Two defenders and a Boot - You are one one greedy collector Adam. Would never see me hoarding like that lol!

But also I thought Taito shipped their Defenders with their own 2-layer PCB rather than the Williams set ?

It's a Taito manufactured boardset under licence from Williams.

Here's some better pics of the boards.
The original Taito ROMset is the Green Label version and is noticeably more difficult than the Red Label version in my Williams Cocktail.

CPU PCB

ROM PCB

IO PCB

SOUND PCB

PIEZO SPARK RESET PCB??
