I'm one very chuffed guy atm,its my first cab and like i said my Holy Grail of cabs...

Thank you Martin for doing the pick-drop off for me,thank you to hatster (Kev) for selling me the cab and thank you Rav for storing it at yours until Martin got down to collect it for me

I'm gonna be slowly restoring the cosmetic work on it,eg..coin doors re-powdered etc replacing the CPO as the original as a good few cigs burns on it etc...

Then once all this has been done i'm gonna clock this when i get a spare day or so

Starwars is a wicked game, but I'd be scared to have one of my own because of the cost and always being scared it'd stop working.

Nice get, though, Russ!

Well done on getting such a nice example, in my opinion it is one of the best games ever and one of the few that never, ever, gets boring, even though i cannot for the life of me get past the 9th wave

In fact, i may just fire mine up for a while to celebrate another happy owner finally getting one

Think maybe you should put the crack pipe down

Seriously have you actually played it recently? They aren't that expensive anymore, there was one going recently in the 700/800 region. Keeping them running isnt any more difficult than any other classic era game. The monitors are easier to fix than raster monitors with a much simpler design (IMO). This nonsense about vector games being difficult to keep going is just plain wrong.

...yes it did leave England but like a good homing pigeon found its way back

I was like a kid on christmas morning when Martin turned up with it (until i felt the weight of the beast and it nearly toppled over onto me whilst getting it into the house, thought i were a gonna, ask Martin
smiley36.gif
) then my heart sank when Martin said it would'nt go upstairs that easy cause of the way my stairwell is but me and my mate (who is also called Martin) stripped a lot of the heavy weight out of it,eg...moniter,power brick etc... so it would be easier to manouver up stairs....

I'm gonna be slowly restoring parts of this eg...sorting the coin doors, replacing the CPO...bits and bobs like that....

Congrats. I am forever kicking myself for selling my cab to a mate which since went to Archer (for an extended period) and then, sadly, overseas :( Need to replace it one day.

as long as YOUR happy with it thats what realy matters, you seem to be happy.

i am a star wars buff but i just aint keen on the arcade game,i wouldnt say no to one but i certainly wouldnt pay a lot for one, theres sooo many other games i would rather have instead.

have fun doing the trench run.

Hey,

yeh it left the uk and came here. I thought (for some reason) that it was an important game to add to my collection as I seem to have mostly Atari cabs, and everyone says how great it is, however, tbh, once i got it running i thought it *really* sucked as a game. didnt enjoy it, maybe im missing something.
I know Russ was desperately looking for one so decided to pass it on to someone who would appreciate it. no point in it sitting here switched off collecting dust.

I have to say after everyone raving about this forever i was really disappointed, expecting it to be the best game ever, hey ho...!
