I have seen a few game room build threads appearing recently so it has got me to get off my ass and get my idea that I been thinking about for ages now into action

I have a small block built shed in my back garden full of the usual gardening and kids junk and I have always wanted to turn it into a gameroom/mancave, not only would this make the missus happy as I get the cabs out of the house once and for all (or until the gameroom is full) and I get some dedicated space for my cabs

so I recently decided to empty out the shed and give it a quick clean
here is what I got to work with

as you can see its not a huge storage space or anything but like they say "if god gives you lemons, make lemonade"

so I got most of the junk out and remembered that when I had a gearbox in there from my car it leaked out all its gearbox oil all over the floor so first job was to clean as much up as possible

not the best picture but you can see a dark square patch on the floor where it was, got rid of the worst of it now and hopefully the rest will not cause me any issues

here are a few pics of the inside

as you can i have tried to paint it once before but the wall was sucking the paint up so i run out quite quickly and never got around to finishing it...... until now that is

so the door on the shed is a total waste of time so i knew that would be the first thing that needs replacing so i went to see my friend in the trade to see if he had any doors available with specific measurements (minimum of a 27 inches wide so i can get most cabs in there)

2 days later he delivered me this

almost 31" opening, awesome, just need to make the opening bigger in the shed so it fits but i am sure he can sort that with the help of a disc cutter

so as the floor is such a mess i decided to get some floor levelling compound to smooth out the floor for some carpet tiles to be laid in the future

that's as far as i have got with it but not bad progress for 2 weeks on a tight budget

plan is to get the door fitted and floor laid before my delivery from phil's arcade clearance arrives mathj2012-06-02 23:05:25

door in

WP_000054__1338751184_82_16_169_40.jpg

so now i know it is water tight i can start working on the inside

so i went over to b&q and picked up some santex exterior paint to coat the walls with as it is bare cement block and soaks up the paint

made a start on it today but with the weather being crap i need to wait for a dry day so i can empty everything out and paint it properly

with the glass in the door and the white walls it should help brighten it up a bit in there and make it more like a room than a shed

another small update

as I knew the weather was gonna be crap over the next few days I decided yesterday was the best time to get this floor down

so I got everything out again and prepped the floor ready
here is my pile of supplies

my narc is currently still in bits spread all over the house

once I got a space for the cabs I am going to rebuild and restore it and get it up and running again

Nothing like a 10 year restore project

I think you started to take that apart shortly after I picked up the KI cab.

great job, good use of space

someone else might have said but remember about damp and heat issues, should be able to protect the cabs in there though if you put your mind to it
