Guys, I can see this thread going sough rather rapidly! And let's not go there please!!!

1) A cab is the owners to do as they see fit.

2) If the artwork was gouged and shot, then WTF is someone meant to do when it's laminated sides? Not like you can go and get repro artwork for a Zacc cab from Arcadeshop or anything is it now?

3) It sounds like the cab has donated life to a bunch of others by having the salvageable parts sold off.

4) Any one person could have bought the cab off Olly instead, but didn't.

So, let's see what happens, eh?

Well I managed to get the Coin door and Ali PSU from SilverFox and I've been after the Ali Transformer mount for Years as mine was badly corroded

So parts of this machine have helped me with my Tron restoration big time!

Okay so im looking at both side’s of the coin on this one.
For example, I drive a 1967 Morris Minor…… yet I have painted it with a roller, stripped out the dash and fitted custom gauges along with a bigger motor….
I know people think Ive destroyed her and she should be restored…. But she’s mine! I’ll do what the hell I want!

would love to see pics of this

I was very tempted to buy this cab when Olly put it up for sale. Unfortunately I was too late and it was already on hold for silver fox within 4 hours of it being advertised on jamma+.

How does that equate to nobody else wanting to take it?

I strongly suspect there would have been a queue of collectors desperate to buy it at the price, which was an absolute bargain and even included a £65 original Capcom Commando pcb iirc :(

it was on here for a few days, at the time i was not a registered member here but was on J+ so when it popped up there i made an offer to buy. i cant recall if it was 4 hours or more as i don't have access to that forums pages anymore.
but from what i recall there was a lot of nice cab, lovely artwork but i was the only one that committed to buying it.
between the 2 forums it was available for a few days for anyone to buy before me. and most people are members of both forums.
And the original intension as i said was to keep it original. if you watched the vid you will understand why it had to go

It was a Zac cab, he did it a favour by putting it out of it misery, sheesh.

It will now be a Zac seat, complete with phone.

Lovely.

That is quite simply not true.

It was advertised for sale on JAMMA+ at 3.43pm and on UKVAC at 3.50pm the same day (18th January).

At 5.08pm the same day you posted on JAMMA+ saying that you would like to buy it, dependant upon Martin's delivery fee.

At 7.17pm the same day, Muddymusic posted on JAMMA+ that it was 'on hold' for you.

Unfortunately I saw the J+ thread at around 7.30pm that day.

I have watched the vid, and don't think the gauges are anywhere near bad enough to justify losing this artwork completely.

This is a complete travesty in my opinion. The only point I do agree with is that it was your property to do as you please with, however in hindsight I'm sure Olly will deeply regret selling the cabinet to you after seeing what has now become of it.

yes that's pauls site right, i go on there a lot

as for the art i would like to put it back as i did love that art and even better would be the same American colour version, but getting it sorted at a reasonable price is where the issue is

that's the one i refer to

FFS, it's his cab and his choice, it's not the first this has happened to and won't be the last, quit being whiny bitches!

Well yeah. His cab. Can do what he wants. No arguments there.

But if he's going to post on a public forum about it then its fair to expect a bit of flack.

I can dig why you had to decide against restoring the artwork. I had a similar decision to make myself, although it ended a bit differently...

UK Video Arcade Converters.

Always love seeing original sideart wrecking jobs because it's scratched up.

Still, pushes up the value of all the original Zac cabs still out there.
