Mystery Marquee

I'm not sure this is the right section, but it seemed appropriate

I have a marquee that has been in my collection for years and I don't know what it is. It's not Atari Destroyer, I think it's either a bootleg or from a generic cabinet but I can't find a single thing online or googled about it.

The only other game I found that's called destroyer is a Spanish game and it's not that.

Has any one got any hints as to what it is or what games it's from?

It's on a standard sized bit of acrylic, but there are clear gaps each side.

Yes, it could be an authorized or bottled version of Atari's Detroyer, and the artwork matches the game's theme.

I'm Spanish, and I can't confirm if it's a Spanish arcade cabinet version (I don't see any logo), because not many people know that my country lived through a bloody 40-year dictatorship with public executions and executions in the streets, and these arcade cabinets never reached my country.

I'd say it's almost impossible to see an original Atari arcade cabinet.

To see any arcade cabinets in my country, we had to wait 5 or 6 years after the fall of the dictatorship, which was in 1975. Even so, dedicated arcade cabinets didn't arrive until the 1990s. We were a poor country, ruined by the fascist regime and international isolation!

The Spanish angle was the only other 'Destroyer' titled game I could find made by Cidelsa in the 80s. I think it was a space shooter, I can't find any more information.

Maybe it was a bootleg cabinet and this is a one off? I have never seen this before. I guess is just an oddity?

Well, I'd say most of the cabinets we call "bottled" are actually licensed. Of course, there are isolated cases, like Alca Electronics.

Regarding the arcade game you mentioned, "Destroyer" by Cidelsa, I've been able to verify that it's an original game and was inspired by Phoenix, but, it has nothing to do with naval battles. I've learned that, in fact, in 1980, "Destroyer" was the first Spanish arcade game. That is, it happened 5 years after the military dictatorship fell in my country.
