Namco Galaxians 1.2s & 1.2r

Hi

I have a Namco Galaxian PCB and they seem to have stuffed two ics @ 1.2s & 1.2r. These are between row 1 & row 2.

They are socketed, but one is empty. A 7404 is at 1.2s; 1.2r is empty and I am having problems with diving galaxians, so I assume that it should be populated.

Does anyone know what ic should be @ location 1.2r on a namco Galaxian.

Oddly the other Nacmo pcbs I have don't have anything at these locations

I think what chips are used depends on the type of sprite ram fitted. If
you use inverting ram, you have one chip fitted, use non inverting and
you have the other fitted.

You would have to trace pin 6 from the sprite ram to each chip to be
certain
