I agree with you a decent arcade can support all types of players, including the 'pro' players, but you need to attract the regular customers also.I beg to differ actually. Timewarp Arcade do very well and have recently expanded so this business model does in fact work well at least for their location. I've been in there setting high scores on their Rave Racer before and no problems at all. It's a very chill atmosphere even when busy. The owner is an arcade collector too so he ensures the machines are all taken care of as best he can.
I guess my main point is that I don't find £10 an hour to be too bad. I would prefer 2 hours, but the cost of running a business down south is ever increasing unless you own the building etc.
Don't know about the specific arcade being discussed, I guess we need a member to give it a visit and report back.
Yes, the more arcades the better. It's nice to have diffrent business models.
I checked out 'the heart of gaming' recently £20 for all day in London which pretty amazing given a wide selection of classic/candy cab games.
