[ukvac] New Emulator! (sort of - sad techies only)
Hi Guys,

I've been working on my Centipede emulator written in Forth for
nearly a year now (or should that be I _haven't_ worked on my
Centipede emulator for a year now).

Due to the lack of progress - I'm just too busy at the moment - I
thought I'd throw what I'd done so far on the web for people to
ridicule and laugh at.

Don't bother looking if you want flashy graphics and sound, there's
none of that. In fact if you want to see anything remotely like
Centipede at all, you could be disappointed.

If, however, you're interested in:

1) An emulator written in a language other that C or Assembler that's
easy to understand (when you know what you're looking at) and dead
small and potentially almost as fast as pure assembly.

2) The language that many games were designed in (e.g. at Atari)
after it all started getting out of hand with assembly and they
needed a more productive language.

-------

There are two parts to the emulator:
1) The 6502 emulation - this is a mess, but does run.
2) Centipede hardware emulation - not got too far on this yet, but
it's mapped into the address space and the ROM code does run.

-------

Let me know what you think. (And don't tell me that it's written in
Forth-83, rather than genuine retro Forth-79 - I already know that!)
