I'm only getting the chance to play around 2 games at a time, which is not helping cause I keep forgetting the routes I've worked out. I have short term memory issues which don't help with this sort of game, but it's such a cool game.

One of my students played this and got up to 1 million which I didn't think was bad and that was on the keyboard

Wow, now that is a good score. Might be awhile before I match that...if ever.
Playing this with a Sanwa stick, which is great for shooters, but I feel is a little loose for Nibbler. Lots of unintended directions = lots of swears.

Finally managed to loop the 32 levels. From level 33 the dots get reset every time you die- meaning you have to complete each level with just 1 life...

Can you get a restricter for the sanwa to put it into 4 way mode, it might help with the mis-directions.

I didn't know about the dot reset either.
What's confusing is that I've watched a few high-level play YouTube vids post level 32, and this dot behaviour dosen't occur. I always use parent romsets whenever I can. Maybe I'm playing the wrong version...

I've been looking around and romset 9, the one I used, has the dot reset. Romset 6 plays identically but doesn't have the dot reset. I might switch at some point as that seems to be the one everyone uses.

This is the TG info for the Mame Billionaire training camp settings

Lives: Player Choice up to 6 [Extra Life after Every 4th Wave]

Pause At Corners: On

Cabinet: Upright

Service Mode: Off

Free Play: Player Choice

ROMset: Player Choice. Note that version 6 is easiest as it doesn't regenerate maze dots after death. Version 9 regenerates dots from wave 32 onward making it more difficult to point press or survive when player is exhausted. TIP- A 4-Way leaf joystick such as an original WICO makes the game much more enjoyable and controllable.

These are the marathon settings but it doesn't specify version

ROMSet: Nibbler

Lives: 3 [Extra Life after Every 4th Wave]

Pause At Corners: On

Cabinet: Upright

Service Mode: Off

Free Play: OffSpecial Rules: None

For the arcade settings they have these, but it doesn't say which romset

Dip Switch Bank:

1-3 = OFF

4 = OFF/ON [Upright/Cocktail]

5 = OFF/ON [Diagnostics Off/On]

6-8 = OFFNote: The above Dip Switches, are not only the FACTORY DEFAULT settings, but are also the correct Twin Galaxies Tournament Settings for this title and will provide the following settings;3 Nibblers
