That's a early Sanyo same as my sheriff in a box like that too.
Keep the red paint if you don't mind the dings and get some repro art made up that would look awesome .
Great find
One of two known to exist

Repro art sounds like a great idea. Lovin the space firebird art from the flyer :) Original Paint is staying ! Redoing all metal work and t mouldings and putting internals back to factory. (with dk pcb to start with)

Sheriff is a great game to. Love seeing the videos on that and the cab is awesome :)

Had another look at the monitor and casing. The chassis boards all look ok, no bad burn outs, or damaged pcs as far as i can see. They are dirty and the metal chassis frame needs replating. The monitor tube itself has a label of 510UKB22, which appears to be a Mitsubishi tube. I noticed for sale thread on here a month or so ago for one of these, so maybe there's a chance to swap the tubes over if i can find another :)

Great to see this cabinet being restored, and really pleased to see you're keeping the paintwork just as it is

It actually looks in remarkable good condition. You should be able to find a suitable tube to replace that one, and maintain the original chassis and cabinet which would be nice.

The DK artwork, cp & pcb are worth a decent bit of cash which would help with getting funds for other bits together.
Side art might be tricky, but once someone sees you've got an original cab you're restoring you might find someone has a bit stashed away.

Just a quick question for expert nintendo arcade folk, The t-moulding that goes around my cab sides. It appears to stop about 1/3 the way along the bottom on each side, i.e there is no groove running all the way to the back. Is this correct? Ordering new shiny white to hopefully fit at weekend :)

Ok great, thanks for quick reply :)

Also, hoping that some of my new bezel metal work arrives soon to, so can get some more pics up of progress.

This is how the inside front is looking after some cleaning of internals, wiring etc. Also hopefully shows the condition of the plywood is all sound to :)

Yep as muddy said its normal Jim
Let me know if you need any space firebird parts I might be able to help you .

Thanks. That would be great, though it may be a little while before i get to the space firebird section of the restore! I need to source an original power supply board and transformer on the wooden block and sort the monitor out and fix the pcbs :) I haven't looked at my dk pcbs yet, (which is my favourite part!) I don't want to get distracted until i've got the cab a little further along :)

This should all be keeping me busy for quite awhile :) Loving it all so far to

Hopefully will get some of this installed later. :)

Another question for chuckie egg and muddymusic (and any other nintendo experts). Whilst i was stripping down the coin door & frame i came across a bit of a problem trying to remove 2 of the bolts holding the door in place. It seems that part of the cabinet wood frame that supports the outer cash box casing cuts across these 2 bolts making it almost impossible to remove them without cutting them. Is there some magic way to get these out, or are there differences in cabinets? I think it was the 2 bolts at the bottom of each long side that were obscured.

T- moulding removed and cab edges cleaned. The old stuff was really stiff and brittle and very yellowed. Waiting for new to arrive. Can't wait to get this installed :)

Now if all Nintendo cabs were like this, I'd have one in my collection, especially in this colour! Totally cool cab. In fact I think I might have to repro this when I get round to building a scratch built cab.
Excellent job so far by the way! Watching with keen interest!

Jim regarding your bolts
These earlier Nintendo.co.LTd cabs are different to the later Nintendo of America cabs so I will check my sheriff and dk tonight.
I do remember when I put my newly powder coated door on sheriff it being difficult but i managed to get all the bolts in.

And like Rog said Try and get flat T moulding if you can

Some more pics of progress. I finally managed to get the lower monitor support bracket out. One of the bolts on the rhs was rusted solid, so had to drill the bolt top out.

And i have fitted my first new piece of metal work. The lower marquee/upper bezel support.

Have you ordered flat T-Moulding for this cab..?

Ah, I was mainly making sure i got the correct width. Maybe i won't be installing it quite as quickly as i had hoped! Don't want to put the wrong profile on

There could be other sources but I'm ordering from this guy:

http://www.plonkagames.co.uk/products.html

He has white regular t-moulding in stock already but has the flat/true white stuff in the post from the US right now.
