Nintendo space firebird

Well I’ve well and truly started on the total restoration of my space firebird!!!
Jobs done so far cabinet totally stripped and sent to the paint shop and returned in fresh new paint !
Copied to the closest colour to original as I could find and decided to replicate the finish !
I’m sure you would agree it’s not bad! Re-tap all the holes just in case any paint got in there!
Bottom legs polished nice and shiny!!!

More to follow if I get a chance at the weekend !!

Nice work, that's the finish I wanted one mine but cost was too much to powder coat as they had to order it in!

I don’t know how far away you guys are but this was done at a company called luster coatings in Tasburgh Norwich!
They were extremely helpful to get exactly what I wanted! I could have had it powder coated but not to Match the original colour so was blasted undercoat then wet spray! Probably not as durable as powder coat but thought I’d try something different!

Hi Alex!
Not A1 but not bad really! Already had one table which the cpo,s where badly worn! But managed to buy another table complete from a chap in London about 12 months ago which were in better condition and not badly faded and worn! Trying to keep it as original as I can as it’s my first full restoration! A bit daunting but your u tube video helped!

Quick update!
Rain stopped play for doing the garden SHAME lol

So managed to do a little more to the table!!
Just got the Control Panels to rebuild as a bit sloppy!
Then the table top to get the treatment!

Cooking on gas now!!
Control panels serviced and fitted just got the coin mech and correct locks (Takigen K6510) to fit
Eagerly awaiting pcbs from James RGP!!!!!

All the space firebird tables I’ve seen seem to only green and blue buttons!!
Is the fire button correct green or red??????

All the flyers (US, Japan and Europe) have the fire button as green. Good job as I'm struggling for reds!

At long last it finished!! Sorry it’s been a long time since update!! Had a bit of a crummy year with everything going on but got there in the end!! Special thanks to olly for the artwork and Alex for the missing parts!!
That’s my very first restoration finished! Learned a lot on the way to achieve this now onto the rest !!
Watch this space!! Early Space fever b&w , space fever high splitter, and helifire all to come!!!!
